A green corner of Eindhoven

This two-room apartment on Stuiverstraat sits in the Irisbuurt, a leafy pocket of Oud-Stratum where the streets feel calm and the canopy is thick. This listing does not state a year of construction or an energy label. As a result, the rest of this page is mainly about the street and the neighbourhood, not the home itself. At €1,450 per month, the rent sits 18% below the neighbourhood average of €1,775, which puts it on the keen side for the area. For context, apartments in Eindhoven typically command a range of prices, and this one comes in at the lower end.

The Irisbuurt, as residents see it

Based on two reviews, the Irisbuurt earns a solid 7.82 out of 10. One resident says: "I've known this neighbourhood in Eindhoven for a while, but I've been living here myself for a few months now. I moved here from a less pleasant area and the difference is noticeable. Apart from occasional nuisance from motorbikes and partying people from Stratum, this neighbourhood is really great. Lots of greenery, close to the station and the Jumbo, it's very nice." Another adds: "I think the neighbourhood is beautiful because it is very green. There is also one very nice playground with a dog poo field and a log cabin with fun activities." The CBS figures back up the impression of a lively, mixed area: 54% of households are single-person, and 42% of residents are between 25 and 45. The Irisbuurt neighbourhood is clearly a place where people settle for the greenery and stay for the convenience.

Daily life on Stuiverstraat

For the everyday routine, the Jumbo is just around the corner, so picking up bread or a pint of milk takes minutes. Ekoplaza is a couple of streets away for organic bits, and Albert Heijn is a ten-minute walk if you want a bigger shop. For school runs, SALTO-basisschool de Hasselbraam is a five-minute walk, and Augustinianum for secondary education is about ten minutes on foot. The train station is 2.3 km away, which is a manageable cycle or a short bus hop. The municipality of Eindhoven keeps the wider area well connected, with parks and a playground within easy reach.

Excellent neighbourhood, living here since 1994

I've lived here since 1994 and don't want to leave for as long as my life allows. The living comfort is sublime, and in summer you feel like you're in Italy or Greece because of the white houses. It's fairly safe to live here; there's neighbourhood watch and residents keep a close eye on everything. It's a great privilege to live here. All shops and healthcare facilities are within walking distance, as is the centre of Eindhoven. I want to keep living here!!!
