Many houses in the Rivierenbuurt are old and poorly insulated. This causes drafts, dampness and high energy costs. Also, the maintenance of some homes is insufficient, which detracts from the appearance of the neighbourhood.

Wijkerstraatweg is a street with houses from the early 1900s. Character and luxurious appearance. In addition, Wijkeroogpark is right on your doorstep.

It's sometimes busy but also quiet. If you don't know people, you have nothing to do. If you want to get to know people, there are nice community centres or for 50+ Sluis 51. So you can do fun things but you have to take the initiative yourself, otherwise it's very boring. I myself am 19 and am quite satisfied with this neighbourhood. The hygiene is not good, it's often dirty on the street, dog poo is not cleaned up, and Tata Steel emissions don't smell too fresh either. Getting a house is actually impossible because it's full here. My wifi works fine here.

Nice quiet neighbourhood with almost exclusively local traffic. Unfortunately, few to no amenities really nearby. Would have liked a shop closer by.

People themselves are not social compared to when I came to live here. I live in a risk area. You walk out of the street and you can walk in the woods. But you don't do that alone. My house is okay, it just should have been in a different location.
