Hippolytushoef Centrum (woonkern)

One resident describes the neighbourhood Hippolytushoef Centrum (woonkern) as quiet, though cars can drive quite fast through the streets. The supermarket and some other shops are within walking distance, which is lovely, but on the other side of the village there is nothing, so those people would have to go by bike or car. The neighbourhood has a mix of ages, with many older residents and a fair number of families. It's a place where people tend to stay put.

Life on the street

Your daily routine here is simple: bread and milk from Aldi or Dekamarkt, both just around the corner. For school, Kindcentrum Op de Elft / De Kei and Kindcentrum Op de Elft / Henricusschool are a couple of streets away, so the morning walk is short. The village has a GP and a restaurant within a few minutes' walk, and a park or garden is also nearby. For secondary school or a train, you'd need to travel further afield.

Where ago

A year ago, I came to live here with my husband, it is quiet but the cars can drive quite fast through the streets, which is why I have never let my cats go outside, the supermarket and some other shops are within walking distance from us so that is lovely, but on the other side of the village there is nothing so I can imagine that those people would find it annoying to have to go by bike or car every time.

About Heldersestraat 14, Hippolytushoef

Is €399,000 a fair price for this corner house?

With 145 m² of living space and a 349 m² plot, the price is in line with what you'd expect for a corner house of this size in Hollands Kroon. The energy label B means running costs should be reasonable. There's no comparable market data for the immediate neighbourhood, so it's best to compare with similar homes in the wider area.

What is the neighbourhood like?

Hippolytushoef Centrum is a quiet village neighbourhood with a mix of ages. One resident notes it's peaceful but cars can drive fast through the streets. The supermarket and some shops are within walking distance, which is convenient. On the other side of the village there's less, so a bike or car is needed for some errands.

How far is the nearest supermarket?

Aldi and Dekamarkt are both about 380 metres away, so just a few minutes' walk. For more choice, there are other supermarkets within a few kilometres, but for daily shopping you won't need to go far.

Are there schools nearby?

Yes, two primary schools are within 400 metres: Kindcentrum Op de Elft / De Kei and Kindcentrum Op de Elft / Henricusschool. For secondary education, the nearest school is about 10.6 km away, so a bike or car journey is needed.

What is the energy label and what does it mean?

The home has energy label B, which is efficient. You can expect relatively low heating costs compared to older homes with lower labels. The exact consumption will depend on your usage, but label B is a good sign.

Is there a train station nearby?

The nearest train station is 12.9 km away, so it's not within walking distance. You would need to drive or take a bus to reach it. The village is more car-dependent for longer journeys.
