A lot is organised by various associations, from music to all kinds of activities and festivities. There is an ice rink (in summer a large football field), playground, basketball court and a mini library. We have a community centre with a village pub. We still have an old-fashioned village newspaper with information for and about the villagers. Walk each other's dog? No problem! Feed the cats during the holidays? Check! Neighbourhood drinks next week? Cosy! Walking or cycling, you are in the middle of nature in no time (the Onner polder or the forest). It's lovely living in a quiet village, but there is also plenty to do. I've been living here for 7 years now and I'm sure many more years will follow. Points for improvement? Finding a house here is not easy. Few houses are for sale and those that are for sale are pricey, very difficult for starters/young families. Previously, the bus ran all day to/through Onnen, now only in the morning and afternoon. A pity.
