The housing stock mainly consists of terraced houses, semi-detached houses and a limited number of porch flats, built in a period when functionality took precedence over architectural ambition. The streetscape is green due to the trees along the roads, but real nature or walking areas are largely absent. One resident aptly describes it: the neighbourhood is in a nice location, but for those seeking peace and greenery, Dauwendaele II offers few escape options.

The age composition of the neighbourhood is varied. The largest group of residents is between 45 and 65 years old (510 people), followed by those aged 65 and over (495). This gives the neighbourhood a somewhat quieter character. Younger families and first-time buyers are less represented, which is also reflected in the housing supply: there are not many homes suitable for starters renting a home for the first time in Dauwendaele II.

Nice neighbourhood. Wouldn't want to live here for the rest of my life.

A lot of nuisance (groups of youngsters etc.), but it is in a nice location. Plenty of supermarkets and other shops, although I think the shopping centre could use a chemist. There aren't really any natural spots for walking unfortunately, and there aren't many homes that a first-time buyer could actually move into. What could be better: the nuisance remains the most annoying thing for me, more places for young people so they don't have to hang out in the car park in front of my house or in the shopping centre would be nice.
