Stadscentrum, Nijmegen
NeighbourhoodThis listing is for a room on Kronenburgergas, right in the centre of Nijmegen. This listing does not state a house number, postcode, floor area, year of construction or energy label. As a result, the rest of this page is mainly about the street and the neighbourhood, not the room itself. At €550 a month, the rent is 66% below the neighbourhood average of €1,626, but that figure is for entire homes, not rooms. For a room, this price is in line with the local market for rooms in Nijmegen.
Stadscentrum is the bustling core of Nijmegen, with over 9,900 residents. It's a young area: nearly half the population is between 15 and 25, and most households are single-person. The neighbourhood scores a 6.07 out of 10 from residents, based on four reviews. One resident says: "It's nice to live in the centre. Close to everything you need. Only often rubbish on the ground." Another notes: "I live in a student house with 8 nice housemates, a reasonably decent house but plagued by mice. Albert Heijn around the corner. But many homeless people there." A third adds: "A lot of trouble from certain people." Despite the drawbacks, the centre is lively and well-connected. For more on the area, see the Stadscentrum neighbourhood.

It's nice to live in the centre. Close to everything you need. Only often rubbish on the ground. Otherwise, it's all well organised with how the rubbish is collected and such. Could do more about the homeless people, who are quite numerous, sometimes causing a bit of nuisance because they are always begging in the centre. Especially around Molenpoort it's bad. Could do with more intervention as far as I'm concerned. Not nice if you can't walk without being asked for change. You do see police and enforcement quite often in the neighbourhood, but it could be a bit more. Education is not really in the neighbourhood. It's very accessible by public transport, cycling is sometimes a bit difficult since everyone walks on the street in the centre, also outside pedestrian areas (Molenstraat and Zierikstraat). A minor irritation sometimes.
