A pre-war apartment on Schiedamseweg

This apartment on Schiedamseweg in Rotterdam's Bospolder neighbourhood dates from 1912 and offers 56 m² of living space. This listing does not state an energy label. As a result, the rest of this page is mainly about the street and the neighbourhood, not the home itself. At €325,000, the asking price is 28% below the neighbourhood average of €452,441, which is keen given the smaller floor area, though the lack of an energy label means running costs are uncertain. For context, apartments in Rotterdam vary widely in price and condition.

Bospolder: a close-knit but gritty neighbourhood

Bospolder is a dense, urban area with a strong sense of community. Based on one review, a resident says: 'We have a very nice street, neighbours look out for each other and help each other when needed. I should add that we are all the first residents, so we know each other. It's just a shame that there is no greenery and there are still houses in the area that are in dire need of a major overhaul. As for greenery, it's poverty stricken in the neighbourhood, and there is little for children. There are a few trees on the street, that's it.' The neighbourhood has a high address density (5,642 per km²) and a young population, with many households with children. For more on the area, see the Bospolder neighbourhood.

Daily life on the street

For your morning bread and groceries, Jumbo is just around the corner, with Dirk, Aldi, Albert Heijn and Lidl all within a ten-minute walk. There are several primary schools nearby: Valentijnschool is on your doorstep, and KC De Vlinder and Openbare Basisschool Dakpark are a couple of streets away. For secondary education, MEX010 is a five-minute walk. A park or public garden is just around the corner, offering a bit of green in an otherwise built-up area. For broader context, the municipality of Rotterdam provides extensive amenities.
