This top 5 is based on resident reviews on Buurtje.nl (as of May 2025). Only neighbourhoods with at least three reviews were included, so that the results remain representative. The scores are based on how residents experience their neighbourhood in terms of atmosphere, safety, facilities and other living conditions. In addition, data from the Leefbaarometer was used, an instrument of the Ministry of the Interior that provides objective data on liveability. By combining subjective resident experiences with objective data, a nuanced picture of living in Haarlem emerges.
