Rental homes in Hoogezand-Zuid, Midden-Groningen

Many houses are being bought up by people who then rent them out again, resulting in many foreigners moving in who do no maintenance (house and garden) and do not integrate into the neighbourhood. A real shame because 10 years ago we had a very nice, tidy neighbourhood...

Homes were increasingly bought up and sublet to, for example, labour migrants... these people maintain nothing around the house (gardens etc.), causing the appearance of the neighbourhood to deteriorate rapidly...

It's a nice neighbourhood. It's quiet and there are plenty of amenities and nature. Everything is conveniently located towards the city. There are enough options for education, both secondary and primary school and childcare. Employment is less but not bothersome. For the most part, it's a safe neighbourhood and there's plenty to do. Housing is less, especially for young people and students. There aren't many housing options for young people, but the municipality is close to the city where this is more possible.

Have lived here for quite a few years, and have noticed that the neighbourhood has gone downhill very fast in those years, also in terms of crime and little to do for the youth.

The neighbourhood has the atmosphere of a working-class area. The homes are not too expensive to buy. Some residents should maintain their homes and gardens better. Sometimes messy because of this.
