In the middle of shopping facilities. Spacious and quiet. However, the municipality could remove weeds more often.

I was born here in Overbos-Zuid. I think it's a very safe neighbourhood to walk around in. Not too many loitering youths and little to no nuisance. The streets look clean, but occasionally a bit old and outdated. We have a neighbourhood prevention app group in case something happens. There's a small park near our house with some trees and water where many children play. I think there are about 5-6 playgrounds in Overbos-Zuid. However, there are no peers living in the neighbourhood. They are either younger families or elderly people, so that's a shame. I give the liveability of Overbos-Zuid a solid 8.

There are many walking spots here, such as the Haarlemmermeerse bos. Within walking distance you'll find at least 4 schools and plenty of childcare. Other amenities are also easily accessible, such as GPs, shops, physiotherapists, dentists, you name it. In addition, it's well-connected and you're quickly in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Living here is on the expensive side and social housing is not very well maintained in my opinion (such as mould in the communal areas, poor ventilation of the homes and insufficient insulation). Hygiene is difficult to judge, but when it comes to litter on the streets, there is still plenty of room for improvement. Because the residual waste bins are only emptied once a month and not everyone separates their waste, it doesn't smell fresh in some places after a while. Also, waste bins that were put out some time ago often stand by the roadside for days. On my street they have started separating waste into different wheelie bins, but there simply isn't space for them. As a result, these bins often block entrances or part of the pavement.. The neighbourhood is close-knit in my opinion and I feel safe here. Among other things, a neighbourhood app (Nextdoor) is used, where I see a lot of helpfulness from neighbours. However, I don't recommend the app itself, because you'll receive emails for the rest of your life, even if you've reported them as spam and unsubscribed multiple times, haha.

it's a nice place to live, but if you like a bit of atmosphere and liveliness then this is not the place to be. for the rest you have everything here and the connection is good.

Fortunately, everything is reasonably close by, such as Haarlem, Hoofddorp.

We have reasonable contact with each other, but if you don't have family in the neighbourhood, you could lie dead in your house for a month; it's still every man for himself. For hygiene, the streets are not cleaned, the street is uneven, you have to watch where you walk. For housing, more maintenance is needed; my house is damp, my kitchen lock is broken, the skylight hasn't been fixed properly, and I'm heating like crazy to keep warm, and it's only November.
