Although the homes have been renovated, not to full satisfaction. It has also caused the sense of community and contact with neighbours to disappear. Previously, you could sit comfortably on the gallery on nice days, but due to the renovation, the galleries are a good 25 cm narrower, so sitting outside is no longer an option. There is a balcony at the rear, but with warmer temperatures it is unbearable there. Some activities are organised, but residents are no longer interested because vandalism has regularly occurred. The older youth are bored and that leaves traces. There are also frequent illegal activities. A real shame for a beautiful neighbourhood.

About Mariastraat 2, Beek

Is €365,000 a fair price for this home?

The asking price of €365,000 is below the neighbourhood average of €412,831 and the median of €390,000. Given the 116 m² floor area, the price per m² is about €3,147, which is in line with the local average of €3,123. So it appears priced.

What is the energy label and what does it mean?

The home has energy label C, which is average for a house of this age. It means the home is reasonably efficient, but you may want to consider further insulation to reduce heating costs. In the neighbourhood, 30.2% of homes have label C, and 41.5% have a lower label.

How is the neighbourhood for families?

Beek has a mix of households: about 28% have children, and 32% are singles. There are primary schools within walking distance and secondary schools a short cycle away. However, one resident notes that the sense of community has declined after renovations, and there are issues with youth vandalism.

How long do homes typically stay on the market here?

In the neighbourhood, sold homes took an average of 59 days to sell. That suggests a fairly balanced market, not extremely fast but not slow either.

What is the plot size and garden like?

The plot is 248 m², which is generous for a semi-detached home.
