Rental homes in Heerlerbaan-Centrum, Heerlen

Two years ago, in the summer, I was meeting up with my friends in a small park here. There were kids just a bit older than us who were throwing things. We told them to stop because they might hit my 4-year-old brother. Then they started swearing at us. A little later, one of us was pushed to the ground and one of those kids was choking him. Parents got involved. Even the neighbourhood police officer was informed. A week later, a group of kids surrounded us when we were taking a walk. We weren't out with our friend group. We recognised a few kids from before. That group that surrounded us consisted of 20 kids. Some on bikes, some on scooters, and others walking. I really didn't feel safe and kept looking around anxiously to see if those kids were there again.
