Lots of older people live here but I live nicely opposite the shopping centre

Well, I think it's going downhill. I've lived here for 26 years. Everything is mixed together and that sometimes clashes. I don't have any trouble with anyone, I don't meddle with anyone either, I greet everyone and go back inside. Recently they kicked in the gates and the sheds because I live downstairs and they looked in mine, but there was only junk. I think they were looking for electric bikes. Well, I don't have a scooter, so tough luck. No, the neighbourhood is going downhill. It's a shame because I like living here, but there's no cosiness anymore. At 6 o'clock you don't see a soul outside. I sit in my garden and I just don't see anyone walking on the galleries, because that's what I look out onto. I was born in a working-class neighbourhood, everything was different there. We were there for each other and at the time we'd have coffee together and have a good gossip hahahahah. That's not the case here, which I think is a shame. Groendijplein is also difficult to reach for deliveries, that's also rubbish. You have to go to a pickup point. I don't have a car, so you have to bother people again to give me a lift. Really annoying. This used to be a 55-plus flat, now it's not anymore. Everything mixed together.

Frequently asked questions

About Gilbert van Zinnikstraat 48, Breda

Is €350,000 a fair price for this terraced house?

At €350,000, this is the cheapest of the nine homes currently for sale in Geeren-noord. The average asking price in the neighbourhood is around €405,000, and homes that sold recently went for about €378,000 on average. So this one is priced keenly, though it has an energy label D while most homes for sale here have better labels.

The home has energy label D. That means it's not the most efficient, heating costs will be higher than with an A or B label. In Geeren-noord, most homes for sale have better labels (over 60% are A or A+), so this is something to factor in.

How is the neighbourhood for safety?

Residents have mixed views. One says 'no trouble at all', another mentions break-ins in sheds recently. The total number of reported crimes in the neighbourhood is 76, which is moderate for an urban area.

What schools are nearby?

How far is the train station?

Breda's train station is 3.5 km from the home. That's about a 10-minute drive or a 20-minute bike ride.

How many bedrooms does this home have?

With 107 m² of floor space, it's a good size, but you would need to check the layout with the agent.
