I notice little to no crime in the neighbourhood where I live. I've been living here for about 7 years now. I think Dokkum Noord is well laid out; the city centre is within walking distance from almost everywhere, and there are supermarkets on all sides of Dokkum Noord, so that's good. There are also plenty of schools, which is nice. The only thing I'm concerned about is the maintenance of nature. In the last few years, a lot of greenery has been removed. My mother took action with 'Burgers voor Bomen' (Citizens for Trees); they talked to the municipality and managed to get a lot of nature back, but there is still a lot missing. Nature is not only good for the earth, but also for sound insulation for houses along roads. Trees and bushes insulate a lot of noise and make life next to a road better.
