Tussen de Vaarten Noord-Oost is a quiet, predominantly residential neighbourhood in the northern part of Almere. The neighbourhood was built in the 1980s and 1990s, a period visible in Almere in the straight street patterns, spacious plots, and predominantly semi-detached and terraced houses with front and back gardens. It is not a neighbourhood that stands out for architectural features, but rather for its functional layout that appeals to families.

The population largely consists of families with children and dual-income earners between 25 and 65 years old. You notice this in the neighbourhood: there are playgrounds, the streets are relatively quiet during the day, and there is a certain social involvement. Resident Mette van der Poorten describes it as follows: "I think it's a pleasant, liveable neighbourhood with enough amenities like schools and supermarkets nearby. Also plenty of playgrounds for the children." At the same time, she is honest about the downside: she mentions regular burglary attempts and shady characters at night as points of concern. Cosy neighbourhood but not enough green

I think it's a nice, liveable neighbourhood with enough amenities like schools and supermarkets nearby. Also plenty of playgrounds for the children. Unfortunately, there are many shady types at night and regular attempted burglaries. I would also have liked to see a bit more greenery. The joint neighbourhood watch is well organised though.
