Unfortunately, Lombardijen has deteriorated significantly, especially in the last 10 years. You can see it visibly becoming impoverished, which is such a shame for such a beautiful neighbourhood that always had a reputation as a nice, clean, tidy neighbourhood. Unfortunately, both the residents and certainly the municipality of Rotterdam contribute to this. Safety is hard to find, drug nuisance, nuisance at the underground containers where all household items are just dumped. Rubbish on the street, which a number of residents try to keep up with by regularly picking it up, otherwise we see the rats and mice dancing merrily around the containers. And this is just a small impression of the waste pit of Rotterdam. The municipality must stop cutting costs and handing out fewer bonuses to the higher-ups, use money for the neighbourhoods and ensure that it becomes liveable again for the real Rotterdammers.

It's a decent neighbourhood but there could be improvements like more bins and more cleaning of the rubbish on the street.

I think it has really gone downhill. I've lived here for almost 10 years now and see no improvement in my neighbourhood or area. In my apartment building itself it has deteriorated, not much is done about it. You can tell that Lombardij has become more of a deprived neighbourhood. I no longer enjoy living here. I am also looking for another social housing outside Rotterdam.

Bad. Getting worse and worse. When I first moved in it was very tidy and clean, no litter or trouble with loitering youths or people putting out bulky waste without an appointment. My apartment building is no longer tidy either. My housing association does nothing about maintenance, and the complex manager is never seen. When you call about questions regarding the complex manager, he's never there or never has time. He does the cleaning himself; it has deteriorated greatly in the apartment building.

Good living in this neighbourhood due to many shops, good neighbours and good accessibility. Too bad that parking has become paid.

I think that neighbourhood is completely quiet

Oud IJsselmonde is a green neighbourhood with many elderly residents. People are friendly and helpful. It's not really safe here, for example Park de Twee Heuvelen is not lit at all and many strange people walk around. There is a lot of litter in the area and municipal bins are rarely cleaned, which means quite a lot of pests are roaming around.

But more should be done with the greenery

Well, I was born here so I grew up with the neighbourhood as it is now.

The neighbourhood is improving more and more each year. Thanks to the rent law, there are fewer slumlords and more and more families. It sometimes still has a bad reputation, but that is undeserved except for a few streets. The location is fantastic, metro, Zuidplein, city centre a quarter of an hour by bike. Zuiderpark is also around the corner and soon the Nelson Mandela park.

The facilities and the apartment itself are nice. But around the building there is a lot of rubbish on the street and junkies.

It is and remains a village
