Although the homes have been renovated, not to full satisfaction. It has also caused the sense of community and contact with neighbours to disappear. Previously, you could sit comfortably on the gallery on nice days, but due to the renovation, the galleries are a good 25 cm narrower, so sitting outside is no longer an option. There is a balcony at the rear, but with warmer temperatures it is unbearable there. Some activities are organised, but residents are no longer interested because vandalism has regularly occurred. The older youth are bored and that leaves traces. There are also frequent illegal activities. A real shame for a beautiful neighbourhood.

Frequently asked questions

About Markt 67A, Beek

Is €375,000 a fair price for this apartment?

The asking price of €375,000 is close to the neighbourhood median of €390,000 and below the average of €412,831. Given the 90 m² floor area, the price per m² works out to about €4,167, which is higher than the neighbourhood average of €3,123 per m². So it's on the high side per square metre, but the total price is in line with what apartments here typically sell for.

What is the energy label and what does it mean?

The energy label is C, which is average for a home of this age (1960). It means the home has reasonable insulation and heating efficiency, but you can expect moderate energy costs. In the neighbourhood, about 30% of homes have label C, while 41% have a lower label (D or worse).

How far is the train station?

The nearest train station is 1.7 km away, which is about a 20-minute walk or a short cycle ride. This makes it feasible for commuting without a car.

What are the neighbours like?

Based on one resident review, the sense of community has declined after renovations. The galleries were narrowed, making it less sociable, and there are issues with vandalism and illegal activities among bored youth. However, the neighbourhood has a mix of families and older residents, and some activities are still organised.

How long do homes like this stay on the market?

In the neighbourhood, sold homes took an average of 59 days to sell. This is a typical timeframe, suggesting a balanced market without extreme urgency.

What schools are nearby?

Primary schools like Basisschool Reuzepas and KC Eigen Wijs are about 2.8,2.9 km away, a 10-minute walk or short cycle. Secondary schools such as Graaf Huyn College and Groenewald are around 2.5 km away, reachable by bike in about 10 minutes.

Is there a garden or outdoor space?

The listing does not mention a garden. The resident review notes there is a balcony at the rear, but it becomes unbearable in warm weather. The galleries are too narrow to sit on, so outdoor space is limited.
