I've lived here for 12 years and we almost never had any problems

I've lived in Rotterdam West my whole life. Since 2013 I've been living in Spangen with my children. We really enjoy living here. I have a nice house with a large garden and I have nice neighbours. What I do find a shame is the amount of litter and rubbish and large groups of youngsters on the playgrounds for the children with scooters and fatbikes who also leave all their rubbish behind and 'chase away' the children. There is a lot to do in the neighbourhood for children and the metro/tram station is within walking distance. There should be more greenery and more facilities for older youth. More bins on the street instead of just waste containers.

It's a bit of a chaotic neighbourhood but I'm happy with my little house

I've lived my whole life (45 years) in Rotterdam West and wouldn't want to leave. Personally, I've had no negative experiences in the neighbourhood. Of course, the area was worse in my youth, but even then I had a good time. It's better now, but I do notice that a lot is deteriorating again. In terms of litter on the streets and young people looking for trouble. That's a shame, because it's so nice here. There should be more greenery and more neighbourhood watch, and I think more facilities for young people. Because the neighbourhood and playground work hardly does anything anymore, there's too little for young people aged about 12 to 20 to do, and they end up hanging around and doing silly things out of boredom. A kind of community centre or youth club where they can 'hang out' and do things together could provide a solution. For the younger children, there's plenty to do here, but the mess left by the older youth is not nice. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied here.

It's all fine but nothing special. There is some nuisance from youths, and often litter on the street.

I live in a noisy house myself and have a lot of noise from the neighbours. Which is why I'm looking for another house. But apart from that, it's a nice neighbourhood here. With many nationalities living together in one neighbourhood. There are many activities for all ages. And there are many educational locations in my neighbourhood. But in my flat, there are also people who unfortunately just throw rubbish down from their window. As a result, there are food scraps behind the houses near the storage units and on the roof of the storage units.

My neighbourhood is a nice, cosy and multicultural neighbourhood where many different people live together. There are many children, which creates a lively and cheerful atmosphere; it's always nice to see them playing outside. There is a cosy little square in the neighbourhood where many people gather with their children, especially in summer, which creates a real sense of community. Everyone knows each other a bit, and that makes living here pleasant. In the evening it can sometimes be a bit busier and livelier because of young people gathering outside, but overall the atmosphere is good and the neighbourhood feels safe and cosy. All in all, it's a nice neighbourhood with lots of life, diversity and togetherness.

Lots of shards of glass lying on the street near a senior flat where many residents depend on a mobility scooter or wheelchair and are housebound if they get a flat tyre from riding over glass. Cars parked double, especially on Franselaan, or even crazier, parked diagonally on the pavement and cycle path to unload at a Polish supermarket. Speaking to the driver doesn't help because they only speak Polish, as it's a van or truck with Polish plates that keep doing this. Loose paving stones, especially on Franselaan; if you ride over them with a mobility scooter, you're terrified. Life-threatening situation in some places on that street, also for elderly people with limited mobility, because the tiles are simply not laid properly. The flat in the senior complex is excellent, certainly for someone with limited mobility who depends on aids.

Het is net een klein dorpje, je kunt overal fijn heen fietsen of lopen. Er is ook openbaar vervoer wat het nog makkelijker maakt om ergens heen te gaan. Niet al te ver van het centrum af.

I've lived here for a few years. There's litter on the ground. But the supermarkets are good in the neighbourhood and there's a community centre. Nice!

A very nice neighbourhood. The airport is nearby, but you don't hear a thing. Zestienhovenpark is great for walking or jogging. Many families with children live here. There is a lot of greenery and you see many birds. The best neighbourhood
