The Beek neighbourhood

Beek is a mixed residential area with about 8,365 residents, where 62% of homes are single-family and 61% are owner-occupied. The population skews older, with a third aged 65 or over. One resident shares a candid view: "Although the homes have been renovated, not to full satisfaction. It has also caused the sense of community and contact with neighbours to disappear." They note that narrower galleries and a hot rear balcony make outdoor living less pleasant, and that vandalism and illegal activities have dampened community spirit. This single review paints a picture of a neighbourhood that has lost some of its former charm. For more context, see the Beek neighbourhood.

A train station is a 1.7 km walk, and the town centre with restaurants and a library is within easy reach. Although the homes have been renovated, not to full satisfaction. It has also caused the sense of community and contact with neighbours to disappear. Previously, you could sit comfortably on the gallery on nice days, but due to the renovation, the galleries are a good 25 cm narrower, so sitting outside is no longer an option. There is a balcony at the rear, but with warmer temperatures it is unbearable there. Some activities are organised, but residents are no longer interested because vandalism has regularly occurred. The older youth are bored and that leaves traces. There are also frequent illegal activities. A real shame for a beautiful neighbourhood.

The home has energy label C. This is a decent rating, meaning the home is reasonably energy-efficient but not top-tier. In Beek, about 30% of homes have label C, while 41% have a lower label (D or worse). You can expect moderate energy costs, but not as low as with an A or B label.

How is the neighbourhood for families?

What is the outdoor space like?

The property has a plot of 187 m², which includes a garden.
